‘Cheeseburger’ is one of the most looked-forward-to events of the year.
The festival is a tribute to tropical paradise, cheeseburgers, and Jimmy Buffett. The 10-day long festival takes place in the August, celebrating the final weeks of summer vacation. Activities at the festival range from sandcastle making to concerts and laser light shows on the beach.
Cheeseburger in Caseville was started in 1999, when a Caseville local came up with an idea for an end-of-summer festival. About 5,000 people from around Huron County, Michigan attended the first three-day festival. Today the festival has grown to 10 days and includes concerts, food, and the highlight of the festival, The Parade of Tropical Fools. The parade is held on the first Wednesday night of the festival and is the biggest attraction that the festival has to offer. The parade can last up to two hours and attracts more than 80,000 people every year.
The Cheeseburger in Caseville festival has activities for all ages. There are a variety of concerts and many kids activities. An assortment of different cheeseburger stands from restaurants throughout the city compete for the prize of best burger. In addition, there is a classic car show, fireworks display, a sand castle & sculpture contest, and a lot of other fun activities.
At Caseville County Park, we offer special accommodations to meet the needs of our campers. Space fills up extremely quickly when reservations open so it is important to sign up for updates from the park to find out exactly when you can go online.
During the festival, all non-seasonal sites are available including full hookup lakeview and electric & water sites. In addition to on-site camping, Caseville Park also maintains an overflow area that includes rustic camping for those wanting to stay in Caseville for the festival.
Special overflow sites sites are made available during Cheeseburger ONLY. These sites are located by the Caseville Fire Hall in downtown Caseville. These sites are not located in the campground.
